TICKETS
THE MOVE · HARVARD
Purchase, refund & entry policy for Harvard-exclusive nights · effective October 16, 2026 · last updated October 2026
Short version: one ticket per person. No gifting, no transfers, no resale. All sales are final — the only refunds are if we cancel, or if we move the night and you can't make the new date. Your ticket is emailed to your Harvard address and lives in MY TICKETS.
1 · Who can buy
Harvard-exclusive nights are sold only to accounts verified with an @college.harvard.edu address. We mail a six-digit code to that address and you type it back; there is no password and no phone number involved. An account that has not confirmed a college address cannot reach the till.
We never publish, sell, or share your address, and we do not let anyone look an address up to find out whether it belongs to a member. The only thing stored against your name is the address itself and whatever alias you choose.
2 · One ticket each
You may hold one ticket per person per night. This is enforced by the system, not by a request: a basket with more than one ticket in it is refused before checkout opens, and once you hold a ticket the buy box is replaced by your ticket code.
›Picking a different tier replaces your choice rather than adding to it. One PRESALE plus one GA is still two tickets, and two tickets is not something this branch sells.
›If you are charged twice for the same night — a double tap, a second tab — email themove.harvard@gmail.com and the second charge is refunded in full. That is the one refund we give without argument.
3 · There is no gifting here
On themove.party you can buy extra tickets and send them to friends. That does not exist on this branch, deliberately: there is no DM and no friend list on /harvard, and a claim link can only be redeemed by somebody with a verified Harvard address. A surplus ticket would be a dead link and a refund request, so the system does not sell you one.
›Want a Harvard friend there? Send them the page. They make their own account with their own college address and buy their own ticket, which takes about a minute.
›Want a friend who isn't at Harvard there? Email themove.harvard@gmail.com before the night with their name. We approve or deny it, and we will tell you which. Turning up with an unapproved guest is not a thing the door can fix.
›Tickets are not transferable and not for resale. A ticket offered for sale is void, and the person holding it does not get in.
4 · What you pay
The price of the tier, plus a service fee that is shown on its own line before you pay. The total on the button is the total on the card — the same function computes both, so they cannot disagree. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your card number.
›Harvard members who have linked a themove.party account get 10% off the ticket price on themove.party nights. The discount is applied by the server, shown on the receipt line, and never applied to the service fee.
›Drink tickets, where a night includes them, come with the ticket and are not sold separately. They are redeemed at the bar by the staff scanning your code, within the windows posted for that night. Unused drink tickets have no cash value and are not refundable.
5 · Refunds
All sales are final. There are exactly three exceptions:
1.We cancel the night. Full refund — ticket price and fee — to the card you paid with, automatically. You do not have to ask.
2.We move the night. Your ticket moves with it. If you can't make the new date, email us within 7 days of the announcement and you get a full refund.
3.We charged you twice for the same night. The duplicate is refunded in full.
Outside those three: no refunds for changing your mind, being unable to come, arriving after the door closes, being refused entry for the reasons in section 7, or the night being different from what you hoped. A night that runs shorter than planned, changes venue within Boston, or changes who is playing is not a cancellation.
Refunds go back to the original card and take 5–10 business days to appear, which is Stripe's timing and not ours.
6 · Your ticket
When your payment clears, two things happen: the ticket appears in MY TICKETS on /harvard, and a copy is emailed to your Harvard address. Screenshot it — the door scans the code and a screenshot scans fine.
›The emailed receipt is a receipt for money you spent, so it is sent whether or not you have turned off announcement emails.
›If the email does not arrive, the ticket is still valid: it is in MY TICKETS, and MY TICKETS is what the door trusts.
›A code is good for one entry. Once it has been scanned it is used, and a used code does not readmit anybody — including you, if you leave.
7 · Entry
A ticket is permission to be admitted, not a guarantee of admission. The door can refuse or remove anyone, with no refund, for:
›arriving after the posted door close, or after capacity
›being unable to show the ticket code in MY TICKETS or in the emailed receipt
›failing an age or ID check where the night posts one. If a night is marked 21+, the ID is checked at the door and a refusal there is not refundable
›being intoxicated to the point of being a problem, or becoming one inside
›harassing, threatening, or touching other people. This gets you removed and banned, and we will say so to anyone who asks
Venue rules apply on top of ours. Where a venue holds the liquor licence, the venue's bar staff and their service rules are the final word on anything poured.
8 · If something goes wrong
Email themove.harvard@gmail.com and include the ticket code. Harvard nights are answered from that address; anything to do with themove.party nights goes to themove.admin@gmail.com.
Please email before you dispute a charge with your bank. A dispute freezes the money for months and we would rather just fix it. If you do dispute one, this page — published, dated, and linked from the checkout you used — is what we send.
9 · Changes to this policy
The policy that applies to your ticket is the one published on this page on the day you bought it. If we change it, the date at the top changes and the change applies to tickets bought after that date, never to yours.
